What’s News?

  • Block Party: Permits appears to be what this month is all about.  We just received our permit for the community block party, so we have changed the date.  The original date gave us no time to prepare. Please mark August 30 on your calendar, as that is the new date for the block party.  It will be on 27th Ave. between Irving and Lincoln.  Everyone in the area is invited to attend.  The hours will be from 11:00am-2:00pm.

  • If you would like to help prepare, if you have ideas, if you would like to contribute food or an activity, please contact me at: geokimm@sbcglobal.net.

  • Irving Beautification: We are still waiting for our permit for visual pockets of play to be fully approved for the Irving Street Beautification Project, which we proposed and was approved by the City of San Francisco.  We were awarded $5000.00 towards beautification on Irving street.

  • Toxic Remediation: No movement on our desire to have DTSC insist that the PCE coming from 2550 Irving be cleaned up.  We are, however, still trying to get our city leaders to push for a removal of the toxic PCE.  If you would like a poster for your window, urging this clean-up, please let me know. We want to educate the community on this issue.  Knowledge is power.

Thanks, as always, for taking the time to read this.

Sincerely,

Flo Kimmerling MSNA
