We have a new mayor and we are working on a West Side Meet and Greet, where

Sunset neighbors can meet and talk with Mayor Lurie. We will keep you updated

on when and where this will be.

Sometime last or this month an MSNA Board member knocked or will knock on

your door regarding the issue of neighborhood parking permits in this area. We

are exploring whether parking permits would be valuable for you and your block.

These would allow neighbors, whether they be renters or home owners, to park

on their streets all day, if they have bought a parking sticker from the city. People

who are visiting or parking to go shopping or for work would have a two hour

limit put on parking during weekdays.

If you are interested in signing a request for this area to be a designated parking

permit area, please contact me. ( geokimm@sbcglobal.net)

The Irving Street Beautification Committee is filing for a grant to have funding for

beautifying Irving Street. This might include replacing and trimming trees, putting

benches at selected areas of Irving Street and adding visual play areas on the

sidewalk. Per our request, we have already had power washing of the sidewalks

between 19 th Ave. and 26 th Ave. this past autumn. If you have any specific ideas for

beautification of the Irving Street corridor, please contact us at

As always, we welcome your ideas and your involvement in the neighborhood

association. If you are interested in being a Board member, please contact us at

the gmail noted above.

Fondly,

Flo Kimmerling
