Dear Neighbor,
Thanks to all of you who attended one or more of our Coffee with the Candidates.
We are already engaged with our soon to be mayor, Daniel Lurie, regarding efforts to remove the toxic PCE in the soil and air around 2550 Irving Street. We will keep you posted on this issue.
The Beautification Committee, working with the office of our supervisor, Joel Engardio, has
accomplished several activities. The sidewalks on Irving Street, between 19 th avenue and 26 th Avenue were power washed twice over the past few months. Six dead trees on the street were removed and there are plans to plant even more than six new trees. We are also exploring “Pockets of Play” for the children on Irving Street. If any of you are interested in joining the committee, please do let us know.
Finally, one of the Board members will be knocking on your door in the next few weeks. We are exploring the idea of requesting residential parking permits for the immediate area around the commercial zone on Irving Street. Please do give us a minute to explain the possibilities when your doorbell rings. Whether we request residential parking priority from SFMTA will depend on what you as neighbors decide.
Thank you for taking the time to read this email.
Fondly,
Flo Kimmerling
Mid-Sunset Neighborhood Association
